Trump campaign manager names blue states 'in play' for 2020
The Hill ^ | 04/28/19 | Zack Budryk

President Trump’s 2020 campaign manager on Sunday outlined several states won by Hillary Clinton that the Trump campaign believes will be “in play” in 2020.

In addition to the campaign’s work in states that were key to Trump’s 2016 victory – including Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin – the campaign is setting its sights on Minnesota, New Mexico and New Hampshire, campaign manager Brad Parscale told CBS’ “Face The Nation.”

“I think Nevada, you know even Colorado” are winnable for the campaign, Parscale added. “And so those are states we did not win in 2016 that I think are open for 2020.”

Parscale also told CBS the campaign was developing “one of the largest ground games in history” and plans to deploy 1.6 million volunteers, compared to about 700,000 in 2016.

“In every single metric we're looking at bigger, better and badder than we were in 2016 … but this time we're not out there trying to prove we can do something, the president's proved he has done it and now we just have to deliver what he's done [in 2016],” Parscale added.

Parscale’s comments come as Democratic contenders for the 2020 nomination seek to claw back votes in historically Democratic states that largely went for Democrats in the 2018 midterms but failed to push Clinton over the finish line two years earlier.

I would much prefer the Trump campaign would keep their playbook to themselves. I have never understood why people proclaim their game plan to the world — sports, politics, anything.

Meanwhile, Arizona, Georgia, even Texas may see tighter margins that we'd prefer. N. Carolina and Florida will be close.

Won't be a cakewalk, that's for sure.

If we wanted to do a bit of research, we could have concluded this ourselves.

Biden was born in Pennsylvania.....and we need Pa.

Ashamedly, NV/Vegas/Reno won’t be one of them. Sad damn circumstance. Some of us are trying. We are in the Devils camp. Two counties decide for the entire state. I believe it’s called bullying.

I have no crystal ball. Those who have been programmed to hate Trump, in their liberal/crazy environments won't be swayed by anyone or anything. There are some issues that could resonate. The DC dems aren't doing those things, they're too fixated with hatred to accomplish anything.

Don't underestimate the haters who want to take back the Republican Party. Traitor Ryan deliberately threw the House. They deliberately lost Roy Moore's seat, but went all out to get Romney to the US Senate. Are they capable of throwing some states?

I wonder what next summer is going to be like. The Democrat convention is going to look like the bar scene from the original Star Wars.

Make America's enemies worry. The more they defend states they held even with Crooked Hillary, the less they will be able to focus their energy on taking states that voted patriotic in 2016.

MN was gettable in 2016 (Trump lost by only 1.5%), but shifting demographics from old to young and from rural to urban will make 2020 a stretch.

Gavin Clarkson, (R)enrolled member of the Choctaw Nation,
announces U.S. Senate Run, New Mexico

He supports President Donald Trump’s plan to wall off the U.S. border with Mexico and that more must be done to address the challenge of undocumented immigrants entering the country. He said he believes many border crossers falsely seek asylum status.

Clarkson served as deputy assistant secretary in Trump’s U.S. Interior Department for six months in 2017. He resigned in November of that year, announcing his run for the Congressional seat. That action followed a department inspector general report that questioned a tribal loan program he had run as a contractor before his appointment.

Clarkson filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against New Mexico State University, saying officials unfairly fired him from his position as an associate professor in the College of Business when he started his congressional campaign. The lawsuit alleged racial and religious discrimination because he is a pro-life Christian and a tribal member.

Clarkson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rice University and both a doctorate in business and a law degree from Harvard University.

This is probably just a stretch goal, and maybe even a feint. The idea is that if you can get the Democrats to spend all their money trying keep these states, they’re not focusing their efforts on MI, PA and WI, which are how Trump won 2016, by an average margin of 0.5%.

Hillary the political moron was running around GA(!), thinking she could win the state, ignoring the advice of Slick Willy, probably the greatest Democratic political talent of the past 50 years, who pointed her at the Midwest. Oddly enough, she came somewhat close - she lost by only 5% in GA, which was a smaller margin than Obama’s 8% loss in 2012. So her efforts did get her a better margin in GA, in an election where the rest of her margins were almost uniformly worse than Obama’s. Problem is - she focused her efforts on the wrong state(s). If she had gone to MI, PA or WI instead, she might be cackling away from the White House today, instead of giving us her perennial sour grapes act.

Bottom line - anything Parscale can do to get the Dems looking in the wrong direction is good. That includes saying one thing and doing another.

And i thought we would have 56+ seats in the senate after the midterms but whether i want to admit it or not, almost half the country hates the president.

Looks like a good strategy, Donald.

Force the Democraps to spend tons of money in those states......leaving them less resources for the states you intend to win.
