Back in the 70s, you would read in the Indian newspapers about exploding stoves burning young women to death, day after day. I mentioned to a friend that there seem to be a lot of dangerous stoves out there, and he explained to me, his stupid American friend, that these women were being killed by their Mothers-In-Law because of family arguments, and that when you read a story about an exploding stove, it is really a story about another burned bride.
I don't know if this still goes on today.
A liberal’s answer to this “crisis” would be to pass all students.
There must be thousands of friendly tech support people in India who are waiting by their phones to help anyone with computer problems.
Funny thing, though, they all seem to have English names and they all work for Microsoft.
But even if we did, there are replacements coming across our bordersevery day.
The same people I confounded with a few Skype For Business cases.
Some SFB would either not launch or kick out some error I forget. They would ask for logs, screen shots, and other stuff.
My brilliant leader/developer worked it out .IT was a UAC problem.
Is 20 out of a million really cause for alarm?
Yawn, let me known when a billion die and the ones here can go home. THe latter is the only thing I really care about.
In Ireland it is the exact opposite.
I was in Dublin Ireland the day the national test scores were released. The students who passed regarded it as a reason to get falling down passed out drunk.
Drunk students were walking in front of cars on the main highways. It was so bad that ambulances were parked everywhere to pick up the students.
Passing was a reason to commit suicide by inebriation.
They need to adopt the American approach — there’s real PRIDE in ignorance and showing the man you that just won’t learn the crap he’s feeding you. You’ll show him!
That doesn't surprise me.
There's a movie, "The Other End of the Line", although with credit card services, not computers.
Somewhat of a higher grade RomCom "Hallmark"-style movie, imo, but it sort of gives an idea of the "Americanization" training that probably goes on.
People drink in Ireland?
Much of this mental instability continues one once they are hired.
Women seem to be worse than men.
Not since they invented the funnel top shape on beer bottles.
That was so the Irish could tilt and pour while drunk without missing their
mouth.
I was astonished when I saw rail cars with high fencing like we used on the hay wagons so we could stack the bales high when collecting them in the fields, except these rail cars were full of empty beer kegs stacked to the top.
Most people in Europe drink to relax, in Ireland they drink to get drunk.
I absolutely Love Ireland!
Well they’ll never get one of those good Scammer jobs now.
A morning walk in Dublin reveals the most popular drinking establishments as the bars set their empty kegs on the sidewalks for pickup. I asked why there were no kegs on the sidewalk at the busy Temple bar. They explained that they had a tractor trailer in back for empty kegs!
35% “failed”.
That suggests that the “passing” grade is above the median, or that a very high % just cannot cut it, and likely needed a “qualifier” exam that would have eliminated them from taking it in the first place.
