The referenced article has pictures how UW Republicans front-ended their project to the students.
Just like FReepers use disclaimers, I occasionally use “/sarc,” to let readers know that a comment is not intended to be taken seriously, the UW Republicans should have included a similar visual disclaimer regarding their bake sale imo.
If student Republicans did show a disclaimer then the press ignored it.

I would contend that just stopping Jim Crow and applying equal rights should have been enough. Affirmative Action and welfare actually has been the main thing holding them back.

I think the President of the university is a little biased to say the least. Check out her name. Perhaps she wanted a discount on a taco and didn’t get it.
Washington state is basically a Marxist academic and political shithole from governors (past & present) to the Mayor/City Council of Seattle and the leaders of many of their universities.
Trying to beat Oregon/Portland as the most Marxist cesspool in the area, and definitely gaining on them.
There is no question affirmative action combined with the welfare state has consigned them to the bottom of the socio-economic ladder - to the point where they themselves are insisting on “separate but equal” in terms of schools, groups, TV channels, expectations, etc.; they are removing themselves further and further from a mainstream in which even non-English speaking foreigners arrive and thrive.
