Hundreds of former Justice Department officials said in an open letter released Monday that President Donald Trump would be facing multiple felony charges stemming from the Russia investigation if he were not President.

The letter posted online by Justice Department alumni, who served under presidents from both parties, said the report from special counsel Robert Mueller contained repeated instances of Trump committing obstruction of justice, and that he would have been charged with obstruction if he was not protected as President by an opinion from the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel that Mueller cited. ...

Former federal prosecutors — 375 of them so far — signed a letter titled, DOJ Alumni Statement. It accuses the the President of obstruction of justice.

The group behind it, Protect Democracy, claims the President tried to fire Robert Mueller, limit the scope of his probe, and tried to prevent witnesses from cooperating.

The President denies all of that.

Before you believe any of it, you should know who these people are. They are the Protect Democracy Project. The members are leftists and never Trumpers.

Here's that insidious "consensus" trick again!

It's like using the idea of the popular vote in a presidential election to cancel out the way the electoral college works.

It's like Anthropogenic Global Warming supposedly turning opinions into scientific fact, despite their lack of true scientific basis, just the virtue of some large number of "scientists" (government teat hangers-on among, largely among academics) being willing to sign their name to a politically-oriented weapon.

It's like Einstein's "Spooky Working" being dressed in figurative "purple robes" and handed a Nobel Prize for describing the photoelectric he observed, even though the original discovery was J.J. Thompson's. (Albert was wrong about the working of what he described, but it didn't matter when the destruction of Tesla's genius was actually at issue.) Einstein's Theory of General Relativity was first known as the "Lentz transform" and described by Henri Poincaré. Einstein was all about imbuing the emptiness of space and time with nonexistent the attributes of pseudo-science, but instead of ousting Einstein for plagiarism ((and "fuzzy-haired idiocy" (Tesla's words)), the preponderance of scientists, physicists and mathematicians and academic Ph.D.-types swallowed any principles they had and gave Einstein every accolade, teaching their kids and grandkids that Einstein was the world's pre-eminent genius when the man invented nothing and bequeathed only the brain-dead religion of bumping magical unicorn particles millions onto Ph.D.s after him to keep them employed and getting government grants from the 1950s to eternity. Consensus worked!

So now, some number of former has-beens want to create a new way to remove a president, by petition of our betters. Never mind that the Constitution cannot be so amended. They think they're smart, deserve respect and they hate that guy PDJT.

No, the AG at the DOJ gets to determine who's going to be indicted or not. For his tenure, he gets to be the arbiter of legal interpretation for those working for the DOJ and FBI. Only because Mueller has a diverging opinion about the legal interpretation of obstruction sub-paragraphs are these malcontents trying to weaponize their signature-opinions to overthrow Barr or his interpretation of the statutes, on the paper-thin hope they can use Mueller's obstruction interpretation to still get at a possible impeachment of PDJT. But Barr's authorities are not open to be infringed upon by some number of malcontents, any more than the previous examples deserve to upset the apple carts of their respective well-orderliness.

Did all of them say the same thing regarding Bill Clinton in 1998-1999? In that case the underlying issue was definitely a crime of perjury in the Paula Jones case. In the case of Trump its about them grasping at straws to try to manufacture a crime out of thin air.

Yep, their decisions an opinions are influenced by their hatred for DJT, thus it can be thrown out.

We have gotten to the point in this country where any of us can be charged with multiple offenses at any time, due to overregulation across every level of government. Plus, Trump is not a lawyer and did not favor bringing in the Deep Staters who knew about the traps.

So, in conclusion, &*#$ them.
