Or does it? I saw a video clip of a frustrated Nancy Pelosi, pleading with her Democrat colleagues not to walk into President Trump’s ambush:
“The President is goading us toward impeachment!”.
I think she’s absolutely right - and more and more Democrat consultants and TV talking heads are echoing this same concern lately. I don’t memorize the names of all the Democrat spokespeople that appear on Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham, but more than a few of them have urged the 2020 Democrat hopefuls to abandon this toxic “get Trump” obsession and focus on real issues that matter to the voters.
Is it a stretch to think President Trump sees it to his advantage to keep them focused on this nothing-burger as long as possible? Impeachment is a non-issue for him, but can do great harm to the accusing party, as the Republicans found out in 1996.
