Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bennet is dodging responsibility for his role in provoking a student walkout at a vigil for victims of the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting.
Bennet, who has represented Colorado in the Senate since 2009, responded to criticism that a vigil organized by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence on Wednesday was unduly politicized. The vigil drew national attention after a mass of students walked out in protest because numerous speakers, including Bennett, chose to argue in favor of gun-control while honoring the victims.
"Last night should have been about Kendrick Castillo and the STEM School students," a Bennet spokeswoman said on Thursday. "They are our focus and the event should have been set up to ensure their voices were fully heard."

"We didn't want Kendrick to be a prop," the student continued. "We wanted Kendrick to be mourned, we wanted all of you to join us in that mourning, but that was not allowed here."
They were looking for more David Hoggs within the student body. Disgraceful to say the least.
I’m heartened that the students were able to discern
that they were being used, there is hope for the young.
These kids are a cut above those Parkland DUmmies, Hogg and his ilk.
These kids are very smart this charter school was not only expensive to attend it had a very rigorous study program in science, tech, English and math I would assume most of their parents are business owners and on the conservative side!!! These kids are NO PUSHOVERS, hopefully they will be tomorrows leaders!!! GOOD JOB parents!!! I don’t know how these two LOSERS ended up in this school, probably some sort of affirmative action BS!!!
If you’ve seen their photos, they look like whack job losers.
And those kids - right there - are the reason I became a Firearms Instructor.
Teach them. To protect themselves. To protect others. And to NEVER let anyone make them defenseless.

Don’t know why people on FR keep repeating this myth. This is a charter school operated Douglas County School District. Thier web site explains:
Enrollment: Students are selected through annual lottery. No testing is required. We are a free, public charter school.
The school is taxpayer funded. Check your information before posting.
Are you referring to the students at the school? What an odd thing to say.
Sounds like these students were the “Let’s roll!” Type who weren’t going to be victimized. From what I understand, the student who died did so rushing the shooters.
Watching a hack like Michael Bennett trying to pee backwards would almost be funny if it wasn’t so predictably typical and despicable...
All true, but these idiots were still looking for them, that was their sole purpose. But supposedly the 2 that shot up the school were also students. Too bad that at least one of the shooters was an Obama supporter who hated Trump, so now we are not to talk about the killers. Had he been a Trump supporter they would be talking about him non-stop. Bravado after the fact is murky at best. Though there were 3 that unquestionably possessed proven bravado, and their actions saved many others. So the others that spoke up may have indeed possessed real bravado as well. Hopefully they will never be in another situation like this to prove their spoken bravado was the real deal.
That’s not bravado, but it is intelligent. Bravado is running towards the fire, not away from it. Walking out does not take courage, but it does take intelligence.

I do not need to see a video to know the different between bravado and intelligence. What the students did by walking out was a clear sign of intelligence. The three that rushed the shooters on the other hand definitely proved they possessed bravado. I don’t understand why you are getting your panties in a wad though. Care to explain that?
