The U.S. Justice Department announced on Friday it had charged former Fugees rapper Prakazrel Pras Michel and wealthy Malaysian businessman Low Taek Jho, popularly known as Jho Low, for conspiring to steer illegal foreign campaign funds into the 2012 presidential election.
According to the unsealed indictment, between June 2012 and November 2012, Low directed the transfer of approximately $21.6 million from foreign entities and accounts to Michel to be funneled into the U.S. election while disguising it as legitimate campaign contributions.
The indictment did not reveal the identity of the presidential candidate.
However, Michel, who is a U.S. citizen, was a well-known avid supporter of former Democratic President Barack Obama, and federal election records show he contributed money to political committees that supported Obamas 2012 re-election campaign and other Democratic committees.

MORE winning!
“The Justice Department, in a civil forfeiture action announced in November 2018, said that Michel and a former Justice Department employee opened multiple U.S. bank accounts to receive tens of millions of dollars in funds from overseas accounts controlled by Low.”
wonder who the FORMER Justice Dept employee was????
Is ex-Fugee Lauren Hill out of prison yet?
This appears to be a friday news dump.
People behind the scene are hoping it gets little coverage.
It was a Congressional liaison person at the DOJ with the unfortunate name of George Higgenbotham.
The indictment did not reveal the identity of the presidential candidate.

Funny, they dont include the name of this perp; possibly because its only $21.6 million.
But the FBI today managed to find a foreign national who supposedly donated $5,400 to Trumps campaign. The oh-so-lovable FBI has zero trouble mentioning Trumps name even though its highly unlikely he was aware of it.
