U.S. census vulnerable to Russian meddling, top official warns

The U.S. Census Bureau is concerned the Russian government could hack into data collected in the 2020 Census, in a similar way to how it interfered in the 2016 presidential election, a top bureau official said.

“Most of the agencies of the federal government that ingest data are very concerned about interference in the process of taking the 2020 Census,’’ said John Abowd, chief scientist at the U.S. Census bureau. “We are very concerned about this and very concerned about developing appropriate defenses,” he told told a Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta conference in Amelia Island, Florida

Government chief information officers and security staffers are meeting regularly to assess threats and make preparations for detecting them, Abowd said. The bureau is working with Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, where a team of about 20 people is focused on securing the system and gaming out possible hacks, the Washington Post reported in April.

A stop to this should happen asap. Russia is not involved in the census.

It is more vulnerable to DIM/LIB loser bureaucrats in the Dept of Census and the lunatic lefty DIMs. All of whom are seditionists...many of whom are traitors.

So, even assuming there is a bit of truth to the story:

What strategic or tactical national defense secrets could the 'Russians' gain from accessing the data of the census? What secrets does the Census withhold when they publish the data gathered?

Are we sure that this isn't just another silly:

story by a hysterical Trump hating media?

Or an attempt by some I.T. Security types to get another cushy government contract?

Cui Bono?

I can just hear Rhode Island’s lament:

“I don’t see WHY I’m not ahead by 50,000,000 citizens!”

In other words, not at all.

Again, just another bit of an anti-Trump smear to add to the pile.

When, when, oh when will Trump start fighting back and release every damn thing associated with the Mueller probe. He must enjoy presiding over a wounded presidency.

Just think of what he could do if he exposed the jackals.

Not releasing the documents is why he lost the House.

I don’t bother reading his tweets anymore.

Back President Trump’s effort to make certain the census form contains the citizenship question in it and no reference to race. But to the country of where the respondent is a citizen of if not an American citizen.
TIME TO END HYPHENATING AMERICANS

One thing the Mexican Constitution has that we should consider doing.Mexico has no hyphenated Mexicans. They prohibit any reference to race when they conduct a census or issue any means of identification, Where a photo id is not available physical description is needed skin color yes but not by race but by nationality..

By doing this Mexico has avoided “balkanizing”, creating fractional disputes in areas where a given group in one of its states is a majority or a minority. Plus it could play a significant part in shutting down the political playing off racial divisions between Americans by the Democrats.

Good grief. This reminds me of the McCarthy days when there was a Russian around every street corner. Paranoid much?
