Not the engine, but the fuel system parts.
It ate up the Quadrajet on my Ponitac 455.
It eats up carb and fuel system parts on small engines.
Ask outboard marine guys what it does.
And more.
It attracts water. Water does the damage. You have to seal the fuel tanks when not in use, and run the carb dry when you're done using the machine.
On older cars, it dissolved rubber parts, rubber is no longer used.
