A Bush II speech-writer is questionable from the start. The Second Inaugural address, was the absolute low in Presidential rhetoric. Please consider: George Washington vs. George W. Bush

I have long been "blown away" by the contrast in both beauty and elegance of past oratory and writing. It's as if some sort of "stupid" bomb was dropped on the population of the 20th century, and has lingered ever since. Anything written earlier is just astonishing in it's quality compared to modern dreck.

And those people could speak it extemporaneously too! Off the cuff they could articulate concepts that it would take an ordinary person 30 minutes of painstaking effort to write, and it still wouldn't be as well said, as short, or as profound.

Trump saying that bush was responsible for 911 ( unfortunately true )sealed his doom with any member of the Bush administration or family

This is pretty fascinating behavior given the final results of Mueller’s investigation. They’re pushing “collusion” and “impeachment” just as hard now as before the results were known despite a brief hiccup immediately following the report’s release.

I wonder what the real reason is, especially when coming from Republican types. They obviously don’t believe there’s collusion. So what else is it?

I gave bush thousands of my hard earned dollars, many hours of my time and a load of devotion. What a disappointment.

A lot of us here feel the same way, myself included.

At least I can console myself with having voted for Keyes in the 2000 primaries.

Michael Gerson, of course.

There’s absolutely no surprise there. He was a vile POS back when he was writing speeches for Dubya.

“Maybe so, but Bush gave him the job.”

Two of a kind.

Some of us knew what Dubya was made of as early as 1994, when as Texas Governor he butted into the Prop 187 fight and took the side of illegal aliens against the voters of California.

After that nothing he did ever surprised me.

Global citizen George. He would have surprised me if he did something that helped the average American.

“Oh, is he that idiot “Crunchy Con” who used to write for “National Review”?”

That was a different idiot. Rod Dreher.

Thx. Dubya had so many fake conservative idiots working for him that it’s sometimes hard to keep track.
