And you're right - the Chinese don't buy into it anymore - because it doesn't work. AND because their 'elites' have the power now, their masks are off and the last thing they want is 'grief from workers'. People in China know the price they paid for buying into Communism - the price was too high: massive starvation, horrible deaths and the knowledge they'll never be free. Xi seems like a good man - but that system could easily accommodate a monster with the same ease - and the Chinese know that...
Communism an evil, but it's the easiest con to pull over on hopeful citizens in search of ‘fairness’... What citizens want going into communism - and what they get (starvation, murders, horror) are so far apart a blind person can see it...And Bernie's not blind.

I am no so sure about Xi. He seems to be re-establishing government by personality cult. Of course you don’t have to be a Maoist to do that, but those types of moves don’t bode well for the future. Yes a monster could slide right in!
