The argument is a form of "special pleading" that assumes that the unborn child is not a person deserving of life.

If I see my neighbor beating his 5-year-old to death, am I morally unable to do anything to stop it unless I'm willing or able to adopt the child? Of course not, and (almost) every pro-abort would agree. The only reason they see abortion differently is that they refuse to acknowledge the humanity of the unborn child.

Of course. And I could make cheap remarks say on gun control. Why worry about 10,000 or so gun deaths when we kill near 1 million defenseless babies a year.
