Gregg Jarrett: The two faces of Robert Mueller, and Trump's presumption of guilt
Fox News ^ | May 29, 2019 | Gregg Jarrett

Posted on 05/29/2019 5:53:52 PM PDT by jazusamo

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has peddled two different stories. Only one can be true.

In his final act before resigning his position, Mueller told the gathered media on Wednesday that his non-decision decision on whether the president obstructed justice was “informed” by a long-standing opinion by the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) at the Justice Department that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime. But according to William Barr, that’s not what Mueller told the attorney general and others during a meeting on March 5, 2017. Here’s what Barr told Senators during his May 1st testimony:

“We were frankly surprised that they were not going to reach a decision on obstruction and we asked them a lot about the reasoning behind this. Mueller stated three times to us in that meeting, in response to our questioning, that he emphatically was not saying that but for the OLC opinion he would have found obstruction.”

Barr said there were others in the meeting who heard Mueller say the same thing – that the OLC opinion played no role in the special counsel’s decision-making or lack thereof. The attorney general repeated this in his news conference the day Mueller’s report was released to the public:

“We specifically asked him about the OLC opinion and whether or not he was taking a position that he would have found a crime but for the existence of the OLC opinion. And he made it very clear several times that was not his position.”

Yet, on Wednesday Mueller was telling a different tale. He seemed to argue that he could...

~snip~

Mueller’s actions were not only noxious but patently unfair to Trump. The special counsel publicly besmirched the president with tales of suspicious behavior instead of stated evidence that rose to the level of criminality.

Part of what gives Mueller his false “halo” is that he is always presented as a “Republican”. In this regard, I am reminded of the leader of the West Coast Longshoreman’s Union, one Harry Bridges, who always claimed to be a “Republican” and this was touted in the so-called “press”. But Bridges was a communist party member who supported and advanced the party position while Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany were allies in 1939-41 of withholding aid from embattled Britain.

It has not been absolutely proven that Mueller is not a liar and a traitor. Until it has been absolutely proven that he is neither of those, I recommend we suspend judgment on anything he says.

“Worth reading”

Thanks for posting but everyone knows what is happening. Research is becoming an excuse for non action.

Agreed.

Today was a low in American history.

I was beyond disgusted. Not sure what’s beyond disgusted but I was it :)

What a POS.

The good thing is the dems will crash and burn with impeachment and hate.

Boy, too bad for Trump we don’t have a constitution or the presumption of innocence in this country.

29 May: The Hill: Alan Dershowitz: Shame on Robert Mueller for exceeding his role
Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan. I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached. But I have now changed my mind. By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias. He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system...

No prosecutor should ever say or do anything for the purpose of helping one party or the other. I cannot imagine a plausible reason why Mueller went beyond his report and gratuitously suggested that President Trump might be guilty, except to help Democrats in Congress and to encourage impeachment talk and action. Shame on Mueller for abusing his position of trust and for allowing himself to be used for such partisan advantage.

Dershowitz nailed it.

It was a DARK, DARK day in American history today.

That POS.

I actually thought he was going to do the right thing.

Because I am naive idiot.

He JUST spoke to put impeachment into action.

That Lurch ####.

He looked awful too.

Good. Maybe he’ll drop dead of a heart attack.

Mueller just stabbed his Bible study buddy Barr in the back by setting him up for lying to congress in his testimony. Of course, Muller will never be put under oath to get to who is telling the truth...it’s now up to Barr to prove that he didn’t lie in his testimony.

Mueller has cemented his place in history. The man who dared to challenge the “Presumption of Innocence,” in our sacred LAW.

The bastard actually questioned his own multi million $$ report!

May a severe POX be upon his rotten body and cross hairs upon his forehead.

Not that I don’t feel strongly about today’s miss justice, Miss Robert Mueller.

Hey Bat, Did you forget that Mueller was a sock tucker for Nike, or some sock maker, before he was sucked into the Justice Department? He was also a coke soaker in a coal mine. And, a cuke sacker in a grocery store! Check him out.

This story should be in its own thread. I just saw Alan D on Hannity and he was great.

Today is the end of the United States of America. Mueller (may he rot in Hell) single-handedly overturned our judicial system and trashed the Constitution.

Many of us here swore an oath to defend this country from enemies foreign and domestic, with our very lives. That oath has no expiration date. Lock and load.
