President Trump said he is "seriously" considering pushing for a ban on suppressors for firearms in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Virginia Beach that left 12 people dead and six people injured.
The shooter used two legally bought .45 caliber handguns, with a suppressor, in the attack. The shooter was shot and killed by police.
"What is your view on silencers? Would you like to see those banned?" "Good Morning Britain's" Piers Morgan asked Trump.
"I don't like them. Well, I'd like to think about it. I mean nobody's talked about silencers very much. I did talk about the bump stock and we had it banned," Trump said. "We're looking at that. I’m going to seriously look at it."
Trump said he was unhappy about other shootings in places like schools.

Perhaps banning Muslims from buying any weapons, especially guns and ammo. I like that modest proposal instead.

Well worth repeating. This is nothing to cause us to get our panties in a bunch.
Oh, Please. You already need a “mother-may-I” slip from the BATF for one. They are already regulated and do not increase the lethality of a firearm.
I am, overall a Trump supporter, but if he continues on this firearm accessory banning trend he’s going to lose just enough support to not be re-elected. I hope he stays away from it.
Headline doesn’t match what he said at all.

He’s very clearly saying he’d like to think about silencers, because he doesn’t know enough about them. He’s saying a lot of people talked about bump stocks, but no ones talked about silencers.
All he’s saying here is he’s going to seriously look at the issue, not at a ban.
He’s probably never used a silencer and like most of the public, doesn’t know what it takes to get one or what they actually do.
Gun mufflers can only be good for the hearing health of all Americans, especially Seniors and Children.

Correct. If Biden wins the Dem nomination the 2020 presidential race will be a contest of who is able to say less stupid things.

Gun-free zones are insanity at this point.
Just think what difference it would have made if one or two people in that Virginia Beach Municipal building had been carrying. They were all sitting ducks and it took at least ten minutes for any help to arrive on the scene.
BTW, all the NRA needs is more trouble to deal with, as I understand they are not exactly financially sound after the rift between Oliver North and Wayne LaPierre.

Interesting fodder for PDJT’s meeting with Macron tomorrow.
Rather mystifying how President Trump now contemplates banning silencers after successfully outlawing bump stocks.
Moreover, he has maintained how many lives might have been spared in the Paris nightclub shooting rampage if a gun or two had been aimed in the other direction.
