Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airport was evacuated Thursday morning and passengers were being re-screened by security hours after the airport lost power and was forced to cancel numerous flights.

Airport officials tweeted shortly after 6 a.m. that guests in the terminal were being re-screened by the Transportation Security Administration “out of an abundance of caution” following the power outage.

“An airline granted passengers whose flights were cancelled access to their checked bags, resulting in the unintentional introduction of prohibited items into the secure area at the airport,” said Lorie Dankers, a spokeswoman for the TSA.

Wednesday’s power outage, which began shortly before 6:30 p.m., was the result of a glitch at a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power station, said Olga Gallardo, an LAX spokeswoman.

Los Angeles and California are controlled by liberal Democrats.

Democrats want to turn America into a backward, third world dictatorship.

Power outages that shut down international airports used to only happen in backward third world countries.

Not anymore.

California officials say blackouts are to be expected.

Not a blip about D-Day on our main internet homepages and search engines such as Yahoo or Google. But at the least the top story on CNN is LA’s homelessness crisis. And now the chaos of crumbling LAX. The problem is the left will find some way to remove themselves of culpability and cry out for more socialism. Ugh.

Came through LAX in March for the first time in years.

Most of the outlets weren't working to recharge your cell phones. They DID, however, not force you to schlep your checked luggage over to the connecting flight as was done during my last visit. So, small improvement.

Tell TSA you are an illegal so you deserve free airfare and you don’t need an ID.
DHS seems to have no problem with it.

California has had brownouts in the past due to the democrats so you can expect more of the infrastructure to fail.
