Continued- "Jason Miller, an English professor at North Carolina State University, called Garrow a brilliant researcher to the point where "I feel shocked, stunned and astonished, by what he has written."

Miller who wrote "Origins of the Dream: Hughes's Poetry and King's Rhetoric," said he has put on hold at least two King projects he was working on.

"The fact that we are now asking if MLK was an abuser — and I mean that in at least three ways, someone who abused alcohol, verbally abused women, and perhaps even ignored women being physically abused — this suggests that the narrative has now changed surrounding Dr. King's legacy, and we are now entering a new era in evaluating this beloved historical figure," Miller said.

Kenyette Tisha Barnes, co-founder of the #MuteRKelly movement, said King's legacy might not escape unscathed.

"I see this as a reckoning for the movement. We've seen it in politics, in the clergy and in the entertainment industry," Barnes said. "We don't demand enough that our leaders have checks and balances. Bad things can happen in what we perceive as benign spaces. Powerful men get a pass because they're powerful."~snip~

Obviously Senator Jesse Helms had heard reports about the content of the MLK sexually explicit tapes and the 1964 Rape tape. According to another interview of author David Garrow, he had personally heard from several DOJ lawyers that they had listened to specifically to the rape assault tape. This was in early 1980. Now he has written confirmation of the hearsay.

A specific court order should be obtained to release the tapes and disclose the truth. While attempting to defend King and discredit the messenger, Garrow, they still are forced to write about it because they know the tapes are a ticking time-bomb. The NYT, WaPo, AJC and now the Baltimore Sun have finally mentioned the credible allegations of King's sexual deviant life and including his role regarding another pastor's rape and sexual assault.

Had this been any Republican office holder or popular Conservative supporter dead or alive, it would have headlined the news 24/7. .

#MeToo. It would have been a nonstop drumbeat..... Reagan, GHWB, Scalia, Eisenhower, or Hannity, Rush, Carlson, Newt, Palin, any member of Congress, any lobbyist, NRA, any member of the Trump family or one tied to his organization, any Christian leader- Falwell, Jeffers, etc. Even a 'beloved' Bush would have been driven over by the progressive bus.

The tapes will never come out. The MLK cult is too embedded at this point, they will keep it sealed or it will inevitably be destroyed in an archive fire.

Look at how the JFK declassification turned out.

I want this to all come out eventually, but it looks like an attempt to cause racial division right before the 2020 election. Democrats are afraid of Trump’s growing popularity with blacks and Hispanics, and they will try something to stop it. Don’t fall for their tricks. MAGA!

He was a great man, and a pig. Many great men are pigs.

Wow. Major UK newspapers had legit witnesses with tons of credibility come out with evidence, and the story was bludgeoned as it sailed across the Atlantic.

No one on the left ever heard this. Or dared breathe of it if they did.

I guess Jack Nicholson was right. Americans can’t handle the truth.

Big deal...

obama got his political start by smearing his opponent by making public a sealed divorced case.

Still beating that MLK drum I see. This is ably the 4th or 5th thread you’ve posted about it. He was too uppity and should have sat at the back of the bus I guess.

There is far more evidence on MLK than ever needed to convict Thomas Jefferson.

FBI's long-buried allegations of MLK misconduct met with skepticism. Andrew Young spent hundreds of nights with Martin Luther King Jr. traveling and living out of hotel rooms .... said, did he see, hear or witness the salacious accounts... of King's alleged sexual activities ~snip~

Leading off the article by quoting a Soviet asset in King's defense is not a very persuasive way to cast skepticism.

If rapists were employed, the rock must be destroyed!

If the audio tapes exist, King's statue we must resist!

TEAR DOWN THIS ABOMINATION!

So, the crazy, whiny “perfesser” was channeling MLK as she accused Kavanaugh...

Did he use smoking afterwards outside as a way to escape or to provide an interval from all that female attention?

SOP? The Memphis balcony?

An inconvenient truth that will never appear in films or be the subject of discussions. Banned not just in Boston.
