I have the video in question downloaded on one of my computers. News like this make me want to start resharing it.
I saw it...or part of it at least...soon after it happened. Assuming that the people who died weren't jihadis,or jihadi sympathizers (an assumption I'm prepared to make), it was unbelievably despicable...like many other church and synagogue shootings.
If this guy *simply* transmitted the video there's no way he should have been put in prison.But if,perhaps,he transmitted it *and* encouraged others commit such an act I can see prison time being appropriate.
The problem is that New Zealand is unbelievably leftist...no friend of the West and *certainly* no friend of the US.
