“The net result is they let the positions go unfilled for over two years, rather than offer what it would take to fill them.”

I think you nailed it. What I don’t know is what it would take to raise the kitty for government jobs like that. And, it’s more than just pay. Border enforcement have become nannies and hardly cops anymore. They are being overwhelmed by sheer numbers an stupid laws and rulings that tie their hands.

It always seems to get back to Congress not doing their jobs. If you don’t despise the U. S. Congress, you’re not paying attention.

This one is on the admin.

All Trump would have had to do is aggressively advertise the jobs himself. Instead he put in Kelly, and then Kelly’s underling, to run DHS—with both the of them dragging their feet on Trump’s claimed initiatives for two years.

Oh NO! Grahamnesty is back. Anything permitting DACA needs to be thrown as far away as possible.

Why oh why must stupid squishy Jared Kushner be given such important tasks as negotiating peace treaties in the ME and negotiating what to do with illegal aliens? He has NO qualifications to have such a major role in those negotiations which will have a very large effect on us. And, he is a squish and a lib.

I don’t know that Trump advertising the jobs would make any difference. I’m thinking more that it might be Civil Service bureaucracy preventing them from offering enough to get good candidates. I’m sure not going to blame Trump for this one. The fault is with Congress 100%. Ignoring that gives them cover that they most definitely do not deserve.

If President Trump were to lose his relection bid in 2020 it would be a catastrophe.

But on the upside, no more Jared.

those brought to the country illegally as children.

Why can't their parents take them back to Mexico with them? Deport the whole family together.

RINOs and Leftists do not bipartisanship make.

Heck they’re both globalists, and the Right would have nothing to do with either of these entities.

Show me where President Trump has caved on something because of Kushner. Haven’t you idiots learned yet that he sends Kushner in as a distraction? There will be no DACA without the wall he made that clear months ago. Nothing has changed. In fact something has changed and then it is starting next week he’s sending all of the illegals back. Doing DACA with nobody here to use it on might be a good thing. Stop being chicken littles and paying attention and giving credence when NPR or any other more on left this website is the source.

They’re trying to Make a Deal. Fix the border AND rework immigration to be merit based in exchange for letting some stay here that have been here since they were young or have been here a long time and been productive.

If that’s what it takes, so be it. There’s never going to be public support for deporting 20-30 year olds that have been here since they were single digit aged.

If they let a couple million stay but actually, really fix the things above, fine. As it stands, we’re getting a million of these type of people a year. https://www.illegalaliencrimereport.com

I’ll trust Trump when it comes to making deals. It’s what he does, who he is.

Kushner fails The List test. This insanity will continue without Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement.

The list goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population)
7) demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship and pass civics test.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport.

Also consider reciprocation of the laws of the countries of origin of the illegal aliens. For example, Mexico doesn’t allow land ownership or voting to immigrants, and doesn’t honor birthright citizenship like its citizens expect from the U.S. We should offer the same deal to them.
