The Russians basically started WWII by allying with the Nazis. They were gearing up to stab the Nazis in the back when the Nazis struck first with Operation Barbarossa. They also killed 100K Americans by proxy during the Cold War, by training, supplying, feeding and funding North Korea and North Vietnam. Putin isn’t sending nuclear bombers right up to Alaska’s air space because Russia is a friendly power. Russia is almost the size of Canada and the US combined. To say that it needs more space is ludicrous. And yet the Russians have annexed parts of Georgia and Ukraine in the past decade.

The Cold War was an aberration, a time when countries lined up into two broad coalitions. In normal times, you can have more than one enemy. This is one of those times.

I agree that Russia is a threat. But see China as a greater threat and just puzzled why no one calls it that way.
