Banks are private companies, they can do what they like.

Actually BoA is a corporation. It is not privately held.

Banks have charters. I'm trying to figure out where BoA is chartered. They are restricted by the state (or federal government) in which they are chartered.

It would seem that it's discrimination to decide on who banks with them.

I manage a few Bank of America accounts. They will all be moving next week.

I rode by the corporate BOA offices today here in Jacksonville and saw that they were flying the gay pride flag. Unreal and disgusting. That’s not a government flag. Glad I don’t bank with BOA anymore.
