“First, if somebody attempts to run you over with a car, you file a report with the police and have them arrested immediately.”
Seemingly...
About 25 years ago my wife worked for our ‘battered womens center’ (it serves seven counties in Montana).
A woman with a broken leg and two children were admitted to the ‘shelter’ (actually it’s a nice home in a good neighborhood).
She lived on the Crow Indian Reservation and her husband was beating her severely. One day she was walking to the Reservation Police station to file a complaint when her husband drove off of the street well onto the lawn and ran this poor woman over — with his POLICE car!
She was successfully relocated.
Just a reminder that truth can be stranger than fiction.
actually if he bought them after the marriage to replace one he sold, they are still his property. Of course if he had them before, they are his, not joint.
So, you think the police should go in and confiscate his property because he was charged with a crime?
Which leads to my ultimate rhetorical question...”How do people that stupid learn to breathe?”
I sure as heck dont believe she should have waited for him to come after her another time!
You do know that the whole florida man thing is based upon FLs public records law right?
I had thought it was a Dave Barry thing, but my nephew, who owned a dojo in Orlando, confirmed it all.
If she was not the lease, was not living there, she had no right to enter the apartment. It was correct to send her to jail because it was in no way her place and had no right to be there. . .married or not.
Then perhaps she should have armed herself eh, rather than stealing his property?

Perhaps he shouldnt have tried to kill her, eh? Then he wouldnt have been in jail and she wouldnt have felt safe enough to go take the guns.
Stealing is wrong. Ramming someones car with yours and running them off the road is also wrong.
She had a restraining order against him when he rammed her car as they were leaving court. She reported that incident and he was in jail for it when she went to get his guns.
I see. Good to know he’s already been convicted of all that stuff.
There are a number of more in depth articles about this story. From those I understand that the man was under a restraining order since January and because it was granted due to domestic battery, he was no longer allowed to possess guns.
