Jefferson County prosecutors say they have not yet made a decision whether they will prosecute the woman who is charged in the death of her unborn born child after the woman was shot during a fight.
Marshae Jones, 27, was indicted by a Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff grand jury in April and arrested this week on a felony manslaughter charge.
Jones was five months pregnant when lawmen say she initiated a fight with another woman in December 2018. That woman, Ebony Jemison, shot Jones, who was five months pregnant at the time. The fetus did not survive.
So many lawyers are just jerks, jerks all the way through to the bone. Prosecutors are even worse. Sometimes the consequences arising from a criminal act are enough punishment that they render subsequent prosecutions into unreasonable pile-ons. The perp was shot 5 times and lost her unborn baby and that should be the end of it.

This story is making the rounds... Seemed implausible at first — woman shot in belly charged with manslaughter of her own fetus. Was waiting to hear the missing details.. Jury reasoning would be a key detail!

The way the jury selection process works prosecutors can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. Prosecutors purposefully pick the dimmest bulbs so that getting an indictment is too easy.
The woman she attacked was defending herself, and she ended up shooting the pregnant woman as she defended herself
Everybody gets a pass but the guy who’s elected to do the job?
And while he is still considering whether or not he should you attack him.

FYI, when I was in my twenties I was unfortunately on the wrong side of the law with small town prosecutors pushing misdemeanor charges and have never been prosecuted. The judges dismissed two “with prejudice” and one “without prejudice” which means that the lazy puke prosecutors had shit cases handed to them and tried to prosecute anyway. They were lazy, greedy, and corrupt rent-seekers going through the motions supporting local law enforcement as they seek revenue for the local government.

I suspect from your posts that you are either a LEO or a lawyer, am I right?
I’m having difficulty making sense of what you posted, but what would lead you to believe I’m LEO or an attorney?
I want a pregnant person who attacked a second person and the second person (victim) shot back prosecuted? That makes me LEO?
You want to forgive the attacker? I’m fine with that.
I also want the attacker punished for what she did.
Hell, I’d consider suing her for mental anguish for what she put me through.
