‘Who in their “right” mind needs Facebook?’

Is your local/state government on Facebook?

During the recent tornadoes they were telling people to go to the local government Facebook page for information.

This should not be news to any alert conservative who can use a computer. If we know any who are not alert, we need to educate him/her.

Turning over your key business decisions to the Jesse Jacksons of the world. What could go wrong?

No worries, I’m pretty sure that self absorbed low self esteem people that post what they eat are probably voting Democrat anyway.

As far as I am concerned, they are a criminal enterprise.

You are not wrong. I've had some dealings with their upper management, and they are all very, very bad people.

I completely stopped using Facebook about a year ago, and was barely using it before that. It used to be a neat way to catch back up with old friends I hadn’t seen in years/decades. Now, Facebook is a sociological force. Its reach and power are like nothing else since the mass usage of the television. “Woke” capital is not going to go broke. Big Business was supposed to be conservative. It isn’t anymore, if it ever was. The conservatism of the past 50 years has no answer for this.

These media platforms are positioned to make it impossible for alternatives to the Official Narrative to see the light of day. They started out embracing diversity of opinion. This allowed them to establish dominance. Now, with pretty much nothing in the way of alternatives, they will squeeze everyone engaging in Wrongthink off of YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc ... Eventually, they will start going after domain registrations. They’ve already done it, but only to Notsees (which they define to include this site). Opposition will be driven to the Dark Web, assuming they don’t just establish actual gulags first.

I am not sure that their place their rules is practicable in this situation.

At the outset they were fairly free of censorship. However as they saw what they viewed as their opponents using their platform to out-manuver them in the political sphere, the brakes needed to be applied to limit the damage. Which puts us where we are now.

I think in the instance of all of them, and Google in particular should not be eligible for any sort of government contracting as long as they actively suppress any voices including the most abhorrent. As far as Fecebook, either open the doors or lose your software copyrights (the task of creating something similar without infringing is mega-$$$)

Those are the only tools available to us, as I see it.

I spent 3 years thinking about quitting facebook, finally did last year. I’m seriously happier without it. Feel dumb for even being hesitant about dropping because I’d miss out or something.

I’m on the precipice of being disallowed from any posting of FB. I posted a picture of Goerring and used the caption “if you tell a lie enough” in a discussion on the lies of the left. I did this several months ago. Today I received a thirty day suspension with no review. I’m looking for another social media source as FB is reviewing everything I post under a microscope. Other FB infractions were posting a picture of a “wookie” with reference to Michelle, pictures of Nazis that were homosexuals, and a picture of Obama’s mother in a compromising position on a chair after a liberal called Melania a whore.

Facebook isn’t good for politics butt...

It’s great for keeping groups informed. My 50th HS reunion is this summer. Without Facebook, we wouldn’t be able to do it nearly as well. I’m also part of an old Usenet group and three or four subgroups of motorcycle enthusiasts that meet and travel together. I taught at a college for 35 years and it keeps me in touch with my graduates and colleagues. Finally, my family posts all sorts of stuff for the rest of the family. We are way better able to keep up with each other than we would be without Facebook.

As long as you avoid politics, Facebook is quite useful.

Does FB pay you for your bs?

Our local government uses Nixle to warn us about fires, earthquakes and floods. Before, during and after one of these events.

Then, the cops/firemen and elected leaders use the local radio for real news not bs on FB.

In the fires two years ago, we got nixle warnings and house to house get out of Dodge from the local cops going from door to door.

In all these events our internets/wifis and go out when the power goes out, and they have in the last 3 disasters. Again the locals use the local am station with its own emergency power.

In May PGE turned off the power because of the possible fire hazards. We lost power and internet for 8 hours with no warning and no fires nearby.

Our local am radio station stays on with standby power, and we use our portable radios to listen to what they are saying.

I have relatives in the SW and my wife has relatives in the mid west with lots of tornadoes in both areas.

Their tvs/radios and nixle warnings keep them posted.

My wife has 5 email lists with about 10 names in each list.
A simple email keeps our friends/relatives here and in other areas up to date on our status. I’m older and I have 2 email lists.

In the last 2 fires and earthquake, we let friends/relatives know that we were safe and okay in minutes by texting and emails and didn’t play woe is us on FB.

However, we live America and if you need FB use it.

We don’t and don’t need it thanks to the internet, texting, emails, local am station and God forbid a phone.

Their platform their rules...Blah blah. They are a publicly traded company and therefore must adjust their rules to comply with standards that don’t allow for their kinda of biased rules. Not that anything will be done but this crap about them not selectively censoring and being unbiased and such in testimony to to Congress is lies for truth and they need to be held accountable as Conservatives are.

...Is your local/state government on Facebook?....

Some are and when any government agency begins to use Face Book as an official medium, Face Book and other systems like it must be reclassified as a utility and regulated as such.

Obviously, we need a hard-nosed Conservative internet operation, in the social media sphere, which parallels the Facebook operation, but from a patriotic platform, which truly respects the traditional values that drive most decent people’s social outlook, while allowing some of the perceived benefits of Facebook—exhibitionist though they may be.

Let’s see what Mark Zuckerberg has to say if he’s hauled in front of Congress trying to explain why he sat next to President Obama at that private dinner in 2011, and what did he discuss with Obama.
