After weeks of anticipation the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) arrested former secretary of the Department of Education of Puerto Rico, Julie Keleher, and former director of Health Insurance Administration, Angela Avila.

Other former contractors of the Puerto Rican Government under the Department of Education and Health Insurance Administration were also arrested. Among them, the director of the consulting firm BDO, Fernando Scherer, and BDO subcontractor Alberto Velazquez Piñol. Keleher and other former contractors for Education in Puerto Rico were arrested in Washington DC.

Keleher and Avila had submitted their resignations from the Rossello Nevares Administration as recent as april and june of this year, after federal investigations were publicaly known. BDO Puerto Rico, on the other hand, had several contracts with Health Insurance Administration and Treasury that amounted to $ 2.2 million.

While these arrests ocurr, Governor Rossello is on vacactions in Europe but in a statement he assumed "the responsibility and commitment to fight that evil in all instances, until I succeed in doing of Puerto Rico an example of the values and principles on which a more just, dignified and productive society is built, I reiterate that our administration will not tolerate corruption and that anyone who fails to trust must pay with the full weight of the law. I also reiterate the call for collaboration with the law and order agencies that work in these cases."

Puerto Rico needs a program like the denazification of Germany. Ban everyone ever involved with public funds, and their children and grandchildren, from ever working with the government again, and reduce the size of government to almost nothing. Crying shame.

Puerto Rico Ping! Please Freepmail me if you want on or off the list.

here is an interview with Julie Keleher last year:

Look her face as she is telling her story:

If that isn't a face of a story teller making things up as she is talking I don't know that is

I’m going to try and find an English language link, but would you believe that she admitted in an interview with Jorge Ramos, that HER response to the hurricanes FAILED. Her response, not Trump’s.

Good idea. We need it too. C. Pelosi, and the ruling class kids can’t be elected.

And she is supposedly a Republican (American Born) but a member of the New Progressive party in PR. (Platform in part to become the 51st State)

Not to defend anyone, but the name of that party was in use before leftists started using the word “progressive”. The “progressive” part of the name “New Progressive Party” has nothing to do with leftist policies. A better translation is “For Progress” (”progresista” vs. “progresivo” in Spanish. This party was founded in 1972 by a stalwart Republican, former governor Luis A. Ferré. He named it so, 1, to attract moderate Democrats who could work with Republican policies, and 2, to create progress in the sense of economic progress. Today that party is still made up of both Republicans and Democrats, but currently dominated by the Democrat wing.
