Dershowitz DEFENDS former client Jeffrey Epstein and says he wishes the convicted pedophile had got a lighter sentence in addition to non-prosecution promise

Alan Dershowitz said that he still believes Jeffrey Epstein is innocent and never saw the convicted pedophile commit any crime with an underage female

'I would try to get a better deal,' said Dershowitz of the 13-month sentence which was served out at a barracks and allowed Epstein to leave for work

Dershowitz said in the interview that he never saw Epstein commit any crime with a minor female

The lawyer claimed Epstein's wealth worked against him the case, saying: 'I think a lot of people without the power and wealth might've gotten a better deal'

He also said that the Epstein accuser who claims she also had sexual relations with him is a liar, and said he could prove this, but did not reveal how

That woman, Virginia Roberts, is currently suing Dershowitz for defamation

Just days after his former client was convicted on charges of sex trafficking minor females, attorney Alan Dershowitz is defending the convicted pedophile.

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Dershowitz said that he had no reason to believe Epstein was guilty and then lamented the sweetheart deal his client got a decade ago, despite allegations he had molested 40 minor females.

'I would try to get a better deal,' said Dershowitz of the 13-month sentence which was served out at a barracks and allowed Epstein to leave for work six days a week.

'The job of a criminal defense attorney is to try to get the best possible deal.'

He also said that the Epstein accuser who claims she also had sexual relations with him is a liar, and listed off a number of false statements she has made in the past.

Dershowitz, who is being sued by that woman for defamation, also claimed to have proof the woman was lying, but did not reveal what that was in the interview.

Sounds to me like Mr. Dershowitz is worried and may have dirty hands too.

So? Is there actual evidence against Epstein or not? I did not follow the case back in 2008 so I have no clue.

Evidence is irrelevant to Dershowitz once he agrees to take the case. His job is to get him acquitted. If you have a conscience you shouldn’t be a defense lawyer.

Dershowitz and Epstein are both Mossad assets - no surprise one will defend the other.

I have to say that Mr. Dershowitz is a pretty sharp lawyer.

He has never struck me as dishonest or ever ‘shooting from the hip’ so to speak.

He is doing his job of defending the rights of a citizen of the United States.

There will be plenty of time for discovery. If there is evidence to be found then the prosecution will have ample opportunity to present it.

Dershowitz can pontificate about legal strategy, but he has a massive conflict of interest. Any hint that he believed Epstein guilty of wrongdoing exposes D. as more likely to have abetted or co-offended. I don’t care if he ruins himself, but he would probably advise a client in his own position to SHUT UP.

Epstein should get Hillary to be his lawyer.

Alan may be in a tough situation and he certainly doesn’t need my advice, but he’d best be very careful how he deals with this.... there’s obviously billions of dollars behind using this to destroy a number of politicians’ careers (some of which clearly deserve it!)...
and while Alan has earned some respect for his many honest comments about the Kavanaugh nomination and Mueller farces.........he’s still not trusted by many people (due to his longstanding hard-left politics).....and may find he hasn’t got as many real friends to help him in case this sex scandal slips him up

——he never saw -——

The magic words

In the absence of direct testimony claiming viewing of sexacts or video tape, prosecution will be difficult.

The most important outcome will be selling ads.

I heard funny comment this week. Winston Churchill was reported to have said “A journalist is a person writing words to fill the spaces between the ads”

I used to think the same way as you, but a defense lawyer could someday save you from being mistakenly thrown in jail or even sent to the electric chair. A defense lawyer's job is to ensure a prosecutor proves his/her case beyond a shadow of a doubt regardless if the lawyer thinks you are guilty or innocent. Without defense lawyers, there would be many more innocent people in jail or worst, unjustly executed.

Alan is pretty clearly not a Mossad agent, imho, his politics just don’t correlate for that. Epstein could be some sort of agent of some foreign country (I think there are some FAR more likely candidates than Jerusalem, though anything’s possible)...However, there doesn’t seem to be any connection or particular reason for it. I rather think he’s probably just a sexual sicko, period, end of file. After all, the “goods” were revealed about Clinton and several more “guests” of Epstein.. and there was almost zero political damage or change in any of their behavior or policies. Just my guess is that Epstein is a sex pervert.

It sounds like he’s simply stating what he would do to defend him. The ethical thing, for the lawyer to do, is defend his client, not help with the prosecution.

A defense attorney is there to protect your constitutional rights.

Yeah, there are scumbags out there. But just because they are scumbags doesn’t mean they don’t have rights.

If we start thinking it is OK to not protect rights based on the accusation, well, the threshhold for the accusation will be lowered.

Reference recent social media giants behaviors in regards to “acceptable speech.”

I wonder how many women will protest him being on campus like they did to Brett Kavanaugh?

If you can’t spend the rest of your life convinced your client is innocent you shouldn’t be a defense attorney. That’s the job.

He is also listed in the pilots’ logs as flying on the Lolita Express. Good Luck Alan.

[Wait until the pilots on those flights start showing up dead.]

It will be unfortunate that the original logs appear to have been lost in the fire, too.

You know, like the fire at the Clinton home.

Tragic.

So very tragic.

And....

unexpected.

One of the problems with the original 2008 case was that the girls who complained then refused to testify. It’s possible that they got scared of what he could do to them, but it’s also possible that they didn’t testify because they were involved themselves.

Apparently after the girls had “aged out” of being of any interest to Epstein, he would have them recruit younger blood for him. One woman described how, when she was about 20, she would get young girls by the classic ploy of “discovering” them and telling them she’d help them get a modeling career, or she knew somebody (Epstein) who could help them. Then she’d bring them in. This is procurement and pimping (of minors, since the girls were around 14) so these women would also be in trouble.
