Germany could have honestly said this about Poland in the 1930’s; Rome could have to Gaul, etc. When a person says that they love America, that’s not the sort of “love” most people think of.

They love the accumulated physical and spiritual capital that rests on the hard work of past generations of Americans. They want to take this for themselves, relegate present-day citizens to some faux equality with invading takers and then prance around boasting how they are the *New* Americans. Of course, this means we are the obsolete, former Americans.
If they succeed, within three years, this entire country will look like the failed Blue Urban Zones.
I’m not at all comfortable with this in my old age.
