It would probably be every bit as effective to call a hippy, tbh. Cops just show up and take a report.
The one time in my life I needed to call the cops they took 45 minutes to show up 2 blocks from their HQ. The perp, who I caught in the act, had long fled and they never caught him. This was at like 2:30am too, so it wasn’t exactly the busiest time of day for them.
