Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib will be admitted to Israel as part of a congressional trip in the coming weeks. Early reporting suggested that the two lawmakers could be denied entry for their outspoken support of boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel.
The Israeli government announced on Friday, however, that they would not block the American congresswomen from entering the country. Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer explained, "Out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America, we would not deny entry to any member of Congress into Israel."
Both congresswomen Omar, a Democratic representative from Minnesota, and Tlaib, a Democratic representative from Michigan, have made waves in Congress with their denouncement of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israel itself. Omar once commented that "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel."

Nor should they. I said this yesterday and got a lot of flack for it. Love em or hate em, they are members of Congress and Israel should not be denying them. If they stir the pot or muckrake there will be political consequences here.

Agreed. I read their statement on the subject and it made perfect sense. Basically Israel has too much respect for the United States, their staunch ally to deny any elected Federal official entry into their country regardless of the personal animosity expressed by them toward the state of Israel.
Very diplomatic and makes them look like the good guys.
We want them to get entry, just no exit!!!
Security might be conveniently-distracted during their trip to the border area.

It wouldn’t be surprised in the least if they have a “Jane Fonda photo moment” (or something real similar) if they visit any of the PA territories...
