I was posting in the context of the space program. I have a lot of the documentaries on Apollo. Cronkite was very good on that.
Sorry to hear about that but at least he had a long life. Just days after the 50th anniversary, wow.
That "good" was in the service of evil. I'm sure Obama at some point in his life was good at "something" (maybe reading speeches from a teleprompter)..the overall impact is still hugely bad.

“[Cronkite] was one of eight journalists selected by the United States Army Air Forces to fly bombing raids over Germany in a B-17 Flying Fortress part of group called the Writing 69th, and during a mission fired a machine gun at a German fighter. He also landed in a glider with the 101st Airborne in Operation Market Garden and covered the Battle of the Bulge.”
The man was brilliant and had guts. Those airmen in the B-17s had only a one in two chance of returning.
All we can hope for is that he was right or got right with God before he died.
