Black rag dolls meant to be abused are pulled from stores

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Black rag dolls that came with instructions to "find a wall" and slam the toy against it have been pulled from three stores after customers and a lawmaker said they were offensive...The dolls were made of black fabric with yarn hair of red, green, black and yellow in the style of dreadlocks, and featured large white eyes and a white smile.

I have collected black novelty items over the years and they are to me part of Americana. I’ve found them at garage sales and when I would remodel homes occasionally find some black figurines and dolls that were left behind. My favorite is a little shoe shine boy lawn ornament. I affectionately call him Arnold. This doll that is supposed to be slammed against the wall is very distasteful.

If they made a white one large enough to have a big "kick here" painted on the head the same people who are whining about this would call it a brilliant, creative, way to let people take out their frustrations over "white privilege"
A doll like that would probably sell well, too, (or at least rapidly vanish off the shelves), especially if it came in a box with a hotel entrance in the picture and the doll laying on the ground in front of it.

These cheap ragdolls are manufactured in China and come in a number of colors. This dollar store chain simply bought a shipment of junk from China for its shops and this is what was sent. Chinese sweatshops churn out all sorts of crapola for export. They don’t share the silly PC notions and thin skin of so many Westerners.

Absolutely offensive. What kind of people would come up this and who would put them up for sale? They should all be put out of business.
