Exactly how does congress “investigate” anything? They hold hearings at which an investigative body can be questioned but they do not investigate. Since they have had their hearings what more and by whom investigation is there?

And Pres Pence can easily pardon Trump, exactly as Pres Ford did for Pres Nixon.
And if they fail to get an Impeachment conviction, they lose millions of votes in 2020.
The risks are massive, the reward is minor and highly unlikely, and the effort simply gives more ammunition to the Right on their claims of unjust harassment.

There's also a whole lot of very real evidence pointing at the Clintons and the DNC. If they want to open this can of worms, I believe it virtually guarantees President Trump's re-election. They'll also probably so damage their "brand" (ie. idiotic leftist socialism) that the GOP maintains or increases it's hold on the Senate, and regains control of the House.
Impeachment? Best thing they could do - other than maybe naming AOC as their candidate.
