Thank you. I will tell them this. None of us knew this. Could be the trick.

Interesting I’ll mention that and see that she sees a doctor to rule it out or see if that’s the issue. Thank you! I am so glad you were successful!!!!

Makes one wonder if they’re not using “low fertility rate” to denigrate a certain portion of the population so that they’re less apt to even bother trying.

Responsible women are told don’t have children, it is child abuse to have them when the planet is dying, if you’re a good person, have just one or ideally none. Let’s let in all the poor victim foreigners because they’re so much better than us and will take care of us.

We are going to need legal immigration, and a lot of it unless native born Americans start having more babies real soon.

Historically, 10% of women are childless. Today, it is hitting 20%, with another 10-20% having just a single child.

Yes, feminism is behind all of it. It lied to women that they’re as fertile at 40 as 20 so put your career first and then try to find a mate and have kids after you’re “settled”. Many end up childless because they put work and fun first. Others have maybe one child before they’re too old. All by design of the social engineers who consider marriage and family oppressive.

Because immigrants compete in the workforce and pull down wages for native born Americans, the native born are poorer for it and less likely to be able to afford children.

This news comes after a separate report revealed that the nation’s total fertility rate was beneath what is needed for the population to replace itself.

The US brings in 1.1 million legal immigrants every year. Since 2000, the US has added 49 million to its population, i.e., from 281 million to 330 million. We have a labor participation rate in the low 60%. We don't have a population problem in terms of replacement.

And why would the population need to replace itself?

Y'all haven't thought this through, have you?

Would you like to collect Social Security or Medicare one day? That doesn't happen without younger taxpayers, you know.

Oh, not counting on SS? Then would you like your private investments portfolios and home values to rise? That doesn't happen without at least replacement levels of population to supply the economy with workers (supplying production and tax revenues) and consumers (supplying demand for goods and services) to grow the economy.

Would you like your government to be adequately funded to do its job and not be tempted to euthanize the elderly as an expensive, unproductive burden?

"Real" Americans have contracepted themselves into a demographic collapse that will have dire economic and fiscal consequences. They have refused to produce a succeeding generation of themselves. Americans have chosen a culture of death. Choices have consequences. Now the bill is coming due.

Talk about entitlement! Whining about immigration only shows how clueless you are about how the world works.

Good luck. The only downside is that strange little curve resulted in three C-sections, so we were told we couldn't have a fourth at the time. Three was the limit for medical science back in the 1980s.

But all three grew up to be fine daughters who've blessed us with five grandbabies (so far)!

My cousin is an MD and a fertility specialist. He tells me that there is even more difference between people's internal organs than their exterior appearance. Just as a one boob might be twice the size of the other, so it is with lung sizes and shapes, or almost any other organ you can name.

Whining about immigration only shows how clueless you are about how the world works.

I live in California. I know all too well how ‘immigration’ works. Small towns that used to be cheap, safe places to live are now 98% Hispanic and full of murders and crimes. Our larger city, if you can call it that, has parts of town you don’t want to go into after dark. We are having 1-2 shootings a day. Yeah, immigration has been wonderful for us!

with automation growing into society daily, fewer people are needed to maintain a working economy.

Also, consider that prior to WW2, ~80% of Americans lived on farms. We had large families because that was our work force.

After the war, returning vets eschewed the farm to work in the factories that had expanded for the war effort. They lived in ~1,200 sq ft tract homes on ~1/8 acre lots and didn't need lots of kids to maintain the property.

They raised self-absorbed, self-centered children, many of whom eschewed having any kids of their own.

I remember a popular acronym in the 80s: "DINKS." "Double income, no kids."

The option to live in a tight, white California doesn’t exist, so quit asking for it. Make a real world decision. You want more babies fast, immigration (keep it legal and selective), or a collapsing economy? Those are your choices.

Would you like to collect Social Security or Medicare one day? That doesn't happen without younger taxpayers, you know.

SS has been running in the red since 2010, i.e., benefits exceed revenue, and Medicare since 2008. The Medicare Trust Fund (HI) will be exhausted in 2026 and SSTF in 2035. By law, benefits must be reduced to revenue received. Both programs need to be reformed to be sustainable. It will take a combination of reduced benefits and increased taxes to keep both programs solvent.

More immigrants are not the solution. Immigrants get old as well and they are net takers from the social welfare system. More than 50% of immigrant headed households use at least one major welfare program. We are importing poverty.

Why do they call it “fertility” rate? It’s birth rate that is down.

With this country in steady decline as it is, who would WANT to have children nowadays? Foreigners are overrunning it, schools are nothing more than hardcore leftist indoctrination centers, and the up-and-coming young voting bloc wants to convert it into the next Venezuela.
