I can’t emphasize enough how much gall it took to award these people the Navy Achievement Medal. It was Obamaesque in nature.


Not a recent phenomenon limited to Obama. Case in point: in 1979 a Washington State Fisheries officer shotgunned an unarmed commercial salmon fisherman, blowing off part of his head, leaving him to die on his boat (he survived thanks to the Coast Guard) and was promoted later by the Washington Department to Fisheries. The officer was black.

I’m sure there have been other cases of screwups where people got promoted and received rewards instead of being prosecuted. Thankfully this turned out not to be one of those cases.
