Red flag laws can work in a virtuous society. Realistically Adam Lanza's father should be in jail for not reporting his wife and son. Instead he just shoveled $15k a month (IIRC) to them and washed his hands.

It goes with my tag line. Trump was right, but I didn't realize how right. It's a shame we have to legislate values like "see something, say something (and the government does something)" and it will be abused. But that's what we have brought ourselves to.
