This is our nation’s problem. Everyone would like to finger-point. Well, those whose voices are loudest want to point fingers, and it exists on both sides. I’ve done it. I started forcing myself to take a step back before placing blame in certain areas, because it only widens the divide.
The perpetuation of the notion that we’re too different to find common ground is a self-fulfilling prophecy. All sides genuinely believe it, and it makes things worse. I’m pretty sure that it accelerated during Obama’s admin, and it’s how we got to where we are now.
