For almost 20 years, comments on my handle have been the refuge of those who want to shut me up. Not shutting up is how I left the Left.
I chose it because I believe that those of us who spent time on the old left have insights that those who didn’t could possibly use.
After over 76 years of life, I have experiences that inform my conclusions. Some of those experiences were within the workings of the group that spawned the present day progs. Trust me: all of us (and there are many here on FR)actually fought within the early D party and were on the front lines of the culture war.
Perhaps our experiences overcoming the inculcation could inform the myopia of those who didn’t.
Perhaps it is easier to characterize and dismiss.
