But in this case, Post is referencing Splinter, & just adding 1 more anonymous quote.
It’s an old trick in the echo chamber/ feeding frenzy milieu of lazy journalists who rewrite a competitor’s juicy tidbit instead of chasing the story themselves.
Whether or not it’s true is irrelevant to them.
How’d the Post find that additional anonymous source?
Probably the Post reporter friending with the Splinter reporter.
In some photos the dead sister does look a tad boyish. But she’s dead. She cannot “come out” as trans now.
I remain skeptical that the anonymous sources in Splinter now claiming her as one of their own are even real sources.
The story sounds made up.
What would be the point?
Evil white guys with scary bad assault guns are killing blacklives & schoolchildren & gays & Hispanics and ...um..

As follow up to my #62:
The Post story claims Megan Betts’ Male identity used the name Jordan Cofer & had an Instagram account where “he” was “out” to his friends.
I find no such account, current or shut down.
I find 2 IG accounts of that name, both women & neither claiming to be male.
I dont find an IG page under Jordan Cofer that has been shut down, as IG would have done.
There are several IG & Twitter accounts under Megan Betts.
None are the dead sister.
If the dead girl had had accounts that have been shut down, this status would be indicated on the various platforms.
There is a wikipedia page for an author named Jordan Cofer, an old guy who is clearly not Megan Betts.
So the Splinter & Post accounts appear to contain no verifiable evidence & in fact outright fabrications.
Nevertheless, the Human Rights Commission, the Advocate, & a few other LGBT-agenda publications have picked up the story & are pushing it.
