I do have a tendency to believe that about PDJT, but not necessarily about the people who work for him.
The DOJ seems to have broken free of the executive branch, becoming a power unto itself, thereby becoming part of the “deep state.”
There are a lot of enemy plants in his inner-circle that is for sure.
I also realize that there are 22 R senate seats up for grabs in 2020 vs 12 D seats. Three are currently tossups - 2 Rs and 1 D.
If I had to guess, McConnell (RINO-KY) and Trump have talked...Yertle is planning on a vote knowing has has the nay votes but would let tossups vote yea to win their re- election.
We also hope if the legislature sends something to Trump, he KNOWS this would be a "No New Taxes" moment if he signs.
In the end, they delay until some other thing occupies the news cycle, and either the Senate votes it down, or it Trump vetos it.
Or we get some incredibly watered down gun legislation - like an "assault weapons ban" on 12 scary guns (that are grandfathered and where ample substitutes exist) but it's attached to full border wall funding and deportation. Trump signs it, beats Harris/Spartacus in the Electoral College AND popular vote, and we get 2 more conservatives on SCOTUS.
Yes, it sucks. But you can't always get what you want. Politics is ugly.
I believe that your assessment is correct. I would sdd the Department of State also.
