As Sub-Saharan Africa becomes richer, that will give people enough resources to finance an attempt to head to Europe.
Europe might be the main destination but many of these people will attempt to come to America.
The woman is a smuggler, nothing more.
So arrest her.

Same logic as saving up money to buy a gun to rob people of what THEY'VE earned.
While the continent is able to sustain 2.2 billion people easily, African countries can not.
That’s why there will NOT be 2.2 billion people by mid century.
Such ad hominem attacks merely demonstrate the scorn of truth--truth for its own sake--and the free exchange of honest ideas that characterizes the decadence of Western Civilization.
There was a time when ideas were held paramount, when their free exchange in unfettered conversation was the ideal, when students were encouraged to think for themselves and challenge the contentions of their teachers!
What happened?
Western Civilization in its decadent phase held the opposite of all this as its standard. Unwelcome ideas became heresy and sometimes provoked violence. Ad hominem attacks and other fallacies of logic assaulted those whose ideas were unwelcome. The free exchange of ideas was crushed by mob rule. The search for truth--truth for its own sake--was lost, and not only lost, but oppressed, truth-seekers persecuted and even killed.
Such is the decadence of Western Civilization.
It's not a new story. It's an old one. Old, sad, and horrifying.
Particularly sad and horrifying because Western Civilization is unique in the history of the world.
Its gifts to the world are priceless.
By 2070, Nigeria will be the 3rd most populous country in the world, and still growing in 2100... Almost a billion by then.

the territory encompassing Nigeria isn’t that big. The other most populous countries, like China, India, the USA, and Indonesia are large, land-wise. Where will all the Nigerians go? What will they do? How will they find food? Water? Jobs?
Also, Pakistan is going to grow much larger, as well as many other African countries.
In Europe as in the US you have class justice.
Because of her connections, ability to finance a legal defense of oneself, and some popular support, this individual can get away with things where some “average person” would land in prison.
The German politicians are very charitable when it comes to other peoples money, other peoples security, other peoples soldiers. But then again, our politicians are no different.
However, the Italians have no balls either. They want to appease a large part of the population negatively affected by globalization and unfettered immigration (see corona virus as the latest event) but also don’t want to really crack down on this. Again, we are no different, see illegal immigration into the US and our policy/law makers. If the Italians had really wanted to stop her, they would have. It’s one of those things where you want to play it both ways and pretend to try to stop this ship, but don’t really try to hard. Then the German politicians show they have a heart (but the Italians get to pay for it)...
