I agree with all of that as do many of the rest of us. I still feel badly for the people of Hong Kong who unlike a lot of the trash weve taken in are good productive people who value their freedom. If were to take anybody in, these should be the kind of people we want - not more Tlaibs or Omars.
These are people whose asylum claims should be granted, not uneducated Central American villagers coming to the US solely for economic reasons.
Oh, I’m not disagreeing that we should be strongly considering asylum applications for people in Hong Kong. My comments are specifically aimed at the protestors. We all know what’s likely going to happen and while I agree with their beliefs, I am also not willing to see more of my friends go over in some misguided effort to ‘protect’ the protestors - and come back in boxes.
And I say that as someone who has family still in HK.
