Kids are great tools for big money and major powers lurking in the shadows, attempting to enact a political agenda. The latest instance, and it's a doozy, is young Greta Thunberg, the Swedish child climate activist who's coming to the states (with a big carbon footprint, according to today's piece by Thomas Lifson) to persuade us all to jump in on the global warming cavalcade of green laws to restrict our own freedoms — which, as it happens, will just coincidentally make the green elites even richer.
No wonder they're the shadowy forces bankrolling her peregrinations. According to a report that ran in The Times (subscription only), titled "Greta Thunberg and the plot to forge a climate warrior," green corporate energy companies looking to turn a profit from green contracts were behind the young Greta's much ballyhooed rise from the beginning. Far from being some persuasive and charismatic kid out to save the Earth, as the press is reporting, the Times found that:
[T]he Greta phenomenon has also involved green lobbyists, PR hustlers, eco-academics and a think tank founded by a wealthy former minister in Sweden's Social Democratic government with links to the country's energy companies. These companies are preparing for the biggest bonanza of government contracts in history: the greening of the western economies. Greta, whether she and her parents know it or not, is the face of their political strategy.

I wonder if she realizes her yacht had a “d-sail” or diesel sail. That’s the one that works all the time, even with no wind. I also wonder if the took the yacht back to Europe, or lost interest in sailing and took a plane.

Well if she was “discovered” by someone trained by Al Gore’s green energy folks, she obviously is brilliant and 100% correct in her scientific opinions.
Like AlGore, she has the innocent, untrained brain of a child and is totally believable. Therefore, we should just do whatever she says and spend whatever she thinks appropriate.
Would I be asking too much for a group of lost Somali pirates to commandeer this boat and hold everyone hostage for a prolonged period of time?

I read somewhere that they are flying a two person crew over here to bring the sailboat back and then little Gretta will fly back after her all expense paid trip.
This silly little indoctrinated Swedish meatball should worry about all the muzzies who are sexually abusing innocent Swedish women in her home country instead of babbling about this climate change BS.
The kid is autistic and is being heavily manipulated by others. But one of the reasons for her odd affectlessness and single mindedness is her autism, as I’m sure the adults behind her know very well.

Actually, their government endorses the climate protests and weaponization of children. If a child does NOT want to participate, they’re systematically bullied.

She is autistic and has high anxiety. She tries to feel better by imposing strict control on the world. And she uses her parents’ and other adults’ guilt to do so. Examples from her parents’ own book:
* refusing to eat until everyone in family went vegan
* guilt tripping Mom into quitting job for the sake of the planet, also getting Mom to chaperone her everywhere
* admitting that climate activism and trying to save the world makes her feel better, reducing anxiety
* being unable to ride planes and sometimes refusing to walk certain routes due to various phobias
* saying she could SEE carbon dioxide and was horrified by it
Simply child abuse and manipulation by typical leftist losers who are ignorant on all levels and, most likely, mental defectives of some sort.
