California is an indicator of what is coming

If true, I suggest everyone begin prepping for long term despair, Poverty and starvation to follow. Learn to grow and harvest food, hunt, fish, become very self sufficient and DEBT FREE preferably with a Home NOT in the city if this ever comes to pass.

you have been warned

Trump and Mitch are attempting to reverse the trend. Lots of new blood in the judiciary.

Eventually, most of the old red-robed tyrants will just get old and retire before doing too much damage. That's why it's imperative to hold the Senate.

Unless we start throwing Bush League Republicans like Flimsey Grahamnesty out and replacing them with patriots and enforcing the laws and removing illegal aliens, we will lose our country.

Grahamnesty STILL wants to give the Democrats a permanent majority with amnesty for illegal aliens.

I wouldn’t say Wilson failed. I would say he (and the people) were overruled by an activist judicial tyrant. What more could Wilson have done? The people of California were basically told by a black robed god that they had to accept being replaced by a more compliant population.

Ping to Nero Germanicus. This is the normal conservative opinion about lying liberal federal judges.

After reading the posts on this thread, I guess we should all just commit suicide.

We’re supposed to be well-informed conservatives, but evidently we have just as little stomach for the fight ahead as the worst RINOs.

You folks are making the mistake of extrapolating current trends in a more or less linear fashion. If that had been the case in 1941, we would all be speaking German now.

The problem here is that gloom and doom predictions fail to take into account the unpredictable twists and turns of history — among which I would include the election of Donald J. Trump.

I’m pretty pessimistic, but I do believe that at least parts of this American nation can be saved. I wrote on another thread today that I’m pretty open to partitioning the country so that the South and most of the Midwest could prosper, while the bicoastal blue cities could sink ever deeper into Third World status.

It doesn’t have to be that way, and a few in Washington, led by (but not limited to) President Trump, are fighting to stop it. We must win that fight.

I understand his seriousness...as the economy slows and it is - the cheating factor applied - and the other tech pushes - and close to 1/2 the voting pop like free - I am quit afraid of the downside in 2020!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UNFORTUNATELY - conventional wisdom says the dems should have a chance in hell in 2020- kind of like the repubs in 2016 = and then!

I don’t see the since of urgency by anyone on the repub side

This flies in the face of the hundreds of state house seats and governorships that the Republicans have won in the last 10 years.

I wouldn’t call myself an optimist, FRiend Steve, only a realist who knows the difference between realism and defeatism.

And I sense a lot of defeatism on some of these threads. We should ask ourselves — are such attitudes helping President Trump’s fight against communism?

One of the weaknesses of the RHINO party is their fear of addressing the “social issues”. They wanted to talk about economic issues and the military meanwhile the nation was rotting away like an overripe fruit. The RHINOS have no vision.

God bless us, we have President Trump. Just wait till he starts ripping those California Democrats a new one! Trump has a talent for getting his message out there around the media. He doesn’t reveal what he is thinking until it is time for him to strike. Then like a bolt of lighting he lets them have it.

Wow.

We should all just give up.

Right now.

11.4 years left. Nothing to live for. Nothing we can do about it.

What a bunch of Debbie Downers. And here I thought FR had enough sense to avoid this kind of bullsh*t negative discourse.

Do blue state people change when they move to red states?

Some do, some don't. A lot of people in urban centers have been Dem out of practical necessity. It looks like Trump was one of those. So was Bob Novak. There was an earlier rush of northeasterners and rust belters to the Carolinas and Virginia back in the '70s. They typically became more conservative in their voting patterns, but I suspect did not transmit the same values to their offspring.

I think if the change means moving from city to city, they stay blue. An Angelino moving to Austin stays put. However, someone going from Hartford, CT to an exurb in the Carolinas may have a change of attitude to closer reflect his environment.

Combining a move from the north with maturing and getting married and raising a family combined would probably be the best way to get a positive change.

Don't forget people like me, red state people seeking refuge from a blue state BECAUSE of the changed values. The blue states will continue to get bluer, and the red states redder (for every one of me, there is a pervert going to northern CA).
