At least 10 people were shot during a high school football game in Mobile, Alabama on Friday night. According to Mobile Police, the victims ranged in age from 15 to 18-years-old. Five of the victims were in critical condition when taken to the hospital, but none of them had life-threatening injuries, WKRG-TV reported.
Police arrested 17-year-old Deangelo Parnell in connection with the shooting. He is being charged with nine counts of attempted murder, WKRG-TV reported.

4. unlikely he had a concealed carry permit
5. probably had a record, and was not allowed to possess a weapon

In Jacksonville, FL it was so bad the Duval County Sheriff issued a PSA imploring gun owners to lock their cars after over a thousand firearms were stolen from unlocked vehicles.
Must be a southern thing, not locking cars. Every night kids walk down the streets and jiggle door handles, looting every car they find unlocked. Cash, jewelry, weapons, you name it.
Do you think they put any forethought into these crimes? It's all zero impulse control and immediate gratification.

I agree. I moved there in the early 90’s. I talked with a lot of locals and based on their advice, I bought a property out in the Dawes/Theodore area near the Miss. border. Mardi Gras always had some kind of shooting. Glad to get out of there eventually.
