....we can summarize that in the NT, Love God with all your heart and love thy neighbor as thyself, replaces the concept of "an eye for an eye".....
Good thinking. It’s very possible.
LOL!
Most people who get their check direct deposited nievely think they know something about business. U can tell. Few know that in business someone is always trying to RIP your lungs and heart out through your throat.
Everyone in this country is a snowflake when it comes to business, even though they think they are a genius with out having any experience or skill: ever use your money to hang your shingle out and put you and your families future on the line; if not, shut up and sit down, u know NOTHING!
Trump is talking about the mothers out there who have been ripping our country off, and that means ripping off every American man women and child. American politicians have been paid off by our countries enemies and should be given a fair trial and hung!
An “eye for and eye” is being merciful. Having been a business man ,if I could, I would have turned are supposed “allies”into self lite glass parking lots long ago, and our enemies would be using sticks and stones to defend themselves.
Trump is being too nice!
A-MEN, although to leftards the phrase conjurs up revenge, the adage “an eye for an eye” really refers to proportionality in punishment.
I have always thought that 2 Corinthians is how a Christian should treat his fellow man, but an eye for an eye is God-given law and just judgment for govt to administer. I do not think the two teachings are in conflict. Pres. Trump represents the law, and an eye for an eye is the correct scripture for him to follow, and I think for him to say this sends a warning and a message that needs to be sent.
Privately, I hope he is kind and forgiving.
Did Trump say what the headline says?
I doubt it.
old 2016 news and fake spin from gayBCDisney.
When Pence is running for President in 2024, Im sure the media will admire his grasp of the Bible....NOT! He will be branded a dangerous zealot. Its the way the godless Left rolls.
Who put this on here and WHY??? For cryin’ out loud!!!
People read this and think he said it today! We don’t need any more of this on here or any place where Trumpers want him for 4 more years. He is loose enough as is, for 2020.
What were you thinking? Slow Labor Day?
He was applying it to how other nations treat us.
An eye for a eye in embedded in our Bill of Rights.
It simply means the punishment must fit the crime.
In a tyrannical government, it seldom does.
Trump walks in bar with two Corinthians and a parrot...
A tariff for a tariff. Thankfully we now have a President who doesnt turn the other cheek on tariffs. He reciprocates in kind.
“Maybe look it up in the Two Corinthians.”
I’m a member of a large family of pastors and missionaries, and have 50+ friends who are pastors from my days in seminary. Some people DO say “Two Corinthians”. Why deride POTUS for doing the same?
Yes, “an eye for an eye” was more O.T. Law than N.T. Grace. Still, I’m glad Trump doesn’t turn the other cheek when it comes to other countries trying to annihilate America — the America God gave us.
Probably not what he had in mind.
Hell - the average Catholic focuses on non-Christian principles of the Bible (if they read it at all) - I think Trump was letting out more trolling line...
But it makes a great "bone" for the media.
With that headline ABC breaks the 8th Commandment.
Again.
An eye for an eye is not Christian.
It is YOU who is taking something a little out of context. Yes forgiveness is also part of the Bible. But forgiveness /love does NOT mean to you give them free range.
IF you love someone you WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.
