The United States extends its condolences to the Mugabe family and the people of Zimbabwe as they mourn the passing of former President Robert Mugabe. We join the world in reflecting on his legacy in securing Zimbabwes independence.

The unnecessary, craven nature of the gesture is similar to the episode when Ireland’s President, Eamon de Valera, went to the German embassy to sign the book of condolences when Hitler killed himself.
Asking the farmers to come back?
It’s been going on for a bit, but apparently not many were trusting Mugabe.
New leadership in the country has brought about some changes. And apparently want those folks back.
That would seem to be the preferred way of stating condolences rather than the way the Embassy did it...
