Andrew Pollack, whose daughter, Meadow, was one of the 17 killed, conducted his own investigation to uncover the roots of what he calls the most avoidable mass murder in American history. He and Max Eden are co-authors of “Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies that Created the Parkland Shooter and Endanger America’s Students.” This adapted excerpt, based on never-before-released educational records of the shooter, Nikolas Cruz, shows the Broward County school district knew full well about his obsession with guns and murder — and then let him practice shooting at school.
When staff at Westglades Middle School heard that Nikolas Cruz had committed the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, some couldn’t believe it. The fact that he was a mass murderer wasn’t what surprised them, but rather the fact that he had attended that school.
“How is that possible?” one Westglades educator recalled thinking. “We did our jobs. It took forever, but we got him [to the specialized school] where he needed to go. We couldn’t believe they ever let him into [Douglas].”

To bad Hogg doesn’t read. Most of us knew this from the onset of this tragic event. The fake media narrative shouted us out and down, the politicians like carnival barkers spread out to promote the agenda.
The local school board dropped the ball.

The FBI dropped the ball.
But don’t worry, universal gun registration will fix it all.

VP Pence leaked it because its so tough on crimes.
But it is an infringement perpetrated by the GOP... not the evil left alone.

If I am not mistaken, that is the notorious 504 section that has helped to destroy public education. I once overheard a school counselor reading a student his “rights” under that law, and was stunned. He was virtuously untouchable by school regulations.
George W Bush and the Republicans had the chance to overturn it, but they chickened out. So, it was not our ability to own guns that caused the massacre, it was gutless politicians.

Just the facts. Deal with it. His administration had the clout to get rid of that law, discussed it, and backed down. The book relates how the district dealt with that animal solely because of that law.
Ask any teacher what they think of 504.

We have two school districts with the same job. The responses are as far apart as possible. How do we teach both groups, and all other schools, how to really help and protect our country’s mids.

It is rare for a story I’ve read to nag at me emotionally but after reading this entire article I was disturbed about it for hours. I think it was the self-inflicted helplessness of everyone involved with this extremely disturbed kid. Time and time again.
All of the excuse making and buck passing got to me on a level well below the surface. Just couldn’t wrap my mind around such passive inaction when faced with such a clear, present and growing danger. They all have had their survival instincts neutered.

Same reason for "sanctuary cities". Bureaucrats need to refill their client lists.
And now, red flag laws will be administered by the same class of dolts.
I predict that not one kid similar to this one will ever be one of the “red-flagged” either.
