Transgenderism conquers science at Canadian Cancer Society: Cervical Cancer Screening for Men?
American Thinker ^ | 09/12/2019 | Thomas Lifson

We live in a moment where the urge to be politically correct has conquered the major institutions of society, driving them to abandon common sense and even science.  Writing at PJ Media, Megan Fox documents the auto-beclowning of the Canadian Cancer Society, which one would normally expect to be a sober, scientifically based organization fighting one of mankind's chief scourges today.  In place of this critical mission, promotion of transgenderism has taken priority.

A new ad campaign to fight cervical cancer is dominated by a transgender person who is a biological male and has no cervix. Look at the absurdity of the ad under the caption "Transwomen and Cervical Cancer Screening."

Fox skillfully debunks the nonsense:

The site goes onto [sic] claim that the risk of cervical cancer for a person with no cervix is very low. "If you're a trans woman, you may not have given much thought to Pap tests and cervical cancer. And if you haven't, that makes a fair amount of sense. After all, in order to get cervical cancer, you need to have a cervix." But don't be fooled by the seeming clarity of this statement. They go on to talk themselves out of it.

If, however, you're a trans woman who has had bottom surgery to create a vagina (vaginoplasty) and possibly a cervix, there's a very small risk that you can develop cancer in the tissues of your neo-vagina or neo-cervix. The risk depends on the type of surgery you had, the type of tissue used to create your vagina and cervix and your personal health history.

I wonder if the next step will be to only offer such screenings to trans men, letting real women get cancer, and the left will declare it a victory for women.

Ok...To keep things “equal”, women who think they are men should be tested for testicular cancer....

I had to read through that long first paragraph before finding out what he’s complaining about.

He’s complaining that recommending trans men who have been surgically given a cervix take a cervical cancer test which would be paid for by the Canadian healthcare system, and that would take away away healthcare money that could be put to better use.

Looking back in history for a similar phenomenon -

Dancing mania (also known as dancing plague, choreomania, St. John’s Dance and St. Vitus’s Dance) was a social phenomenon that occurred primarily in mainland Europe between the 14th and 17th centuries. It involved groups of people dancing erratically, sometimes thousands at a time. The mania affected men, women, and children who danced until they collapsed from exhaustion. One of the first major outbreaks was in Aachen, in the Holy Roman Empire, in 1374, and it quickly spread throughout Europe; one particularly notable outbreak occurred in Strasbourg in 1518, also in the Holy Roman Empire.

Affecting thousands of people across several centuries, dancing mania was not an isolated event, and was well documented in contemporary reports. It was nevertheless poorly understood, and remedies were based on guesswork. Often musicians accompanied dancers, due to a belief that music would treat the mania, but this tactic sometimes backfired by encouraging more to join in. There is no consensus among modern-day scholars as to the cause of dancing mania.

The several theories proposed range from religious cults being behind the processions to people dancing to relieve themselves of stress and put the poverty of the period out of their minds. It is speculated to have been a mass psychogenic illness, in which physical symptoms with no known physical cause are observed to affect a group of people, as a form of social influence.

A similar cognitive dissonance has gripped the followers of the “polygender” and “transgender” cults that have grown up in recent years, in that this particular set of beliefs seems rooted in a mass psychosis. There is no scientific or logical reason for the formation of these beliefs, other than to be in some kind of conscious or unconscious rebellion against the standards of the greater part of the population. Not everybody is afflicted by this skewed thinking, but those who do make it their personal code of behavior are often vociferous to the point of screaming rudeness at anyone whom they consider a critic of their beliefs.

We are looking at the apostasy. I’m thinking it isn’t long.

When Christ said some hard things once many who had been following Him stopped and he turned to the 12 and asked if they would depart too.

“To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” was their answer.

In the same way (though it may seem everyone we know is going with the world) we don’t have to go with them, we can cling to the Lord even though it makes us hated by all.

Friendship with the world is enmity towards the Lord.

Not only is the claim that men can get cervical cancer bizarre, the fact that they felt a need to have a trans person as their spokesperson is almost as weird. All of society is being transformed to cater to the mental illness of a tiny minority.

NO, they are entrepreneurs.

The psychiatrist and surgeons have discovered that there is money to be made in the mentally ill.

The typical insurance policy only covers psychiatric care for 6 months regardless of the illness. Surgeons can’t make money off of the mentally ill at all.

But mutilating transgenders can be a gold mine. Multiple surgeries, frequent touch up surgeries and recoveries can be lucrative.

Ongoing hormonal therapy and dealing with the issues caused by all the treatments means that the patient will be a source of income as long as they live. Which given how new all of this is no one has any idea how long that will be.

Ethically of course this is a real No No. But ethics went out the window Roe vs Wade.

Great point!

There’s always a money angle in there somewhere. Not always the only or original motivation but definitely a significant one.
