TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) A new level of despair spread among tens of thousands of migrants waiting on the Mexican border to seek refuge in the U.S. as the Trump administration began enforcing radical new restrictions Thursday on who qualifies for asylum.
The United States is the only option, Dunea Romero, a 31-year-old Honduran, lamented with tears in her eyes at a shelter in Tijuana. She said she packed a bag and fled her homeland with her two boys, ages 7 and 11, after learning that her abusive ex-husband, a powerful gang leader, was going to have her killed.
The new U.S. policy would effectively deny asylum to nearly all migrants arriving at the southern border who arent from Mexico. It would disallow anyone who passes through another country without first seeking and failing to obtain asylum there.

Has anyone EVER seen AP shed one tear for Americans?
Yeah, Bergdal...
Ms. Romero needs to quit screwing around and file for asylum, in Tijuana.

Kiss my @ss, illegals.
I don’t want to hear your sob story.
The United States is the only option, Dunea Romero, a 31-year-old Honduran
Nope. Belize, San Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico are all options.

A great tidbit FTA:
“Many asylum seekers denied refuge under the new policy will be placed in fast-track deportation proceedings and flown to their home countries at U.S. expense, authorities said.”
Money VERY WELL SPENT!
I like your take more.
Shall we base our immigration systems on who tells the most dramatic sob story? Queen for a day? Wallowing in misery at the highest level? Maybe the AP should start hiring people based on who has the saddest childhood - and NOT on who can do the best job. If the AP will use that silly standard for the people THEY bring into their company for 5 years - then our country should consider the option. Until then, grow up Julie and Cedar...
The United States is the only option she lamented with tears in her eyes.
Otherwise, I will have to move in with my parents again, and have to put up with them, as well workinglong hours. It is not living - it is just survival. Only the USA will give me all the things I need to enjoy life, for nothing other than a few votes. There is just no other option like it.
It's a short flight, so prob only get a bag of peanuts and one of those half size soft drinks.
No...
Everyone has a sob story.
How many are true and how many are false? Heaven only knows.
The Left would love us to spend five years on each of these cases trying to figure them out.
There are so many, it’s just impossible to process them all without simply giving them everything the ask for.
To heck with that idea.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Oh, that is funny!
Keep OUT . ..Get OUT . ..Stay OUT ! !! Uncle Sugar has left the building . Citizens here have had enough of this misguided BS. Fix your crappy home country.

Despair?
Radical?
The AP is a corrupt enemy of America.

Once she’s in the country and signed up for the free stuff she sends word to her gang leader ex-husband to come join her.
This is how it should have been all along. This is how it is supposed to work. Our immigration laws need to be followed and strictly enforced when they are not followed.
We have no obligation to support the whole world. We have an obligation to our own citizens that need help. In many cases we are not meeting our obligations to our own people.
We need to make sure veterans get decent treatment. I just read an article today about a veteran who was covered with ants, stung over 100 times, and died. He was in a veteran’s nursing home. If he had been an illegal in one of our holding facilities we would never hear the end of it. Resignations would be demanded, heads would roll, protestors in the streets.
We are not doing enough for some of our elderly who struggle in poverty. We have a mental health crisis to deal with, which is in some cases a danger to the rest of us and contributes to the homeless population. We have to do something about our drug crisis, if for no other reason many are parents and are neglecting and abusing their children due to their addiction.
We have to do what is best for our country, our citizens.
