I hate taking any drugs, but I was given a prescription of these 10 years ago for kidney stones. The drug works great.

I still use them sparingly when I go to the dentist for a root canal, or other seriously painful procedure.

I guess like alcohol addiction or gambling addiction, some of us aren't wired for drug addiction - I only use them (sometimes half dose) when I really need them.

Most people aren’t- to opioids anyways- the vast majority, over 98%, take them as prescribed, for the length of time prescribed, then come off them no worries-

Some people are just more likely to become addicted to drugs than others.
Why is it some people can have a alcoholic drink with dinner and then stop. Others can not.
These same type of people can not just have one line of cocaine or one hit of heroin.

Nicotine, Cocaine, Oxycontin and heroin are the most addictive drugs that have ever been created. Roughly 1/3 of the people that try Oxycontin or heroin will become addicted.

This is a higher percentage than any other form of drugs.

I know two people who were in car accidents and were given Oxycontin prescriptions for neck pain. They both became addicted. It was really hard for both of them to get off the drug. These people are not junkies. They never willingly stuck a needle in their arm. They were prescribed this medicine by their doctor.

Yea, I knew the feeling. I don't take drugs at all - the very rare ibuprofen if I get a hangover, and that's only if I mix beer, wine, cigars, liquour, and a lot of them. So I had all four wisdom teeth removed several years ago, and they issued me a bunch of hydrocodone. Never took any of it, didn't need it at all. Fast forward to a month ago, wife had gall bladder removed and I was off work a couple days for that. So finally decided to try one of these pills, plus a muscle relaxer. I have alot of back soreness/aches, and all those pills did nothing that I could tell. So I tried one of her super-Tylenols a couple hours later. Still nothing. :/
