What purpose does opiates have ? Other than SERIOUS PAIN ? none
I suspect that the government wants to remove legal opiates from the pharmacopeia so that people with intractable pain will commit suicide and die.
Much less expensive than treating pain with scripts, dr appointments, physical therapy etc
